It would be better in the long run to get a companion for your bird if you are not able to provide enough attention to it during the day. At first though, I would put your new bird in a cage next to your current one so they can get used to eachother. Then move to supervised interaction and once you are certain they will get along put them in the same cage. However, you might want to get a larger cage as they will still want their own personal space every now and then.

I have a parakeet ( can't spell that lol) and he seems lonely I've had him since vday is it ok for me to get him a friend or will they fight i don't won't anything to happen to my baby
