Yes they can. Once they feel old they just hibernate. Eventually, most bears get tired of doing that and many decide to commit suicide. Most choose to fall off a cliff but some hang themselves.
If bears were immortal, then pandas wouldn't be considered endangered.
If bears were immortal, then we'd have an overpopulation of bears in north america and they'd send snipers to hunt them down. (i'm glad that's not an issue, though it is with the cleveland deer population!)
