I agree with Emma. Budgies bond with the one person they are familiar with. You have been treating the sore eye, right? ( if you haven't please take it to a vet ) If you were the one caring for it, it's recognizing you as the being who treated its pain. Therefore, the budgie will feel a connection to you. Caring for your budgie builds an incredible bond. Are you the one who plays with him more? If you do, like I said, he will feel an unremarkable bond with you. Please get that eye treated if you haven't :) Thank you.

Sometimes buddies bond with one person that they are familiar with. This is good because it means that you make him feel comfortable and it may be that he just needs to get used to your family. He is still young so just take your time and he should slowly adjust to your faimly.

Hey guys I have had my pet budgie for 4 months and he is 6 months old who is not tame at all although I did try in the past to tame him.

But now since he has had a sore eye he lets me hold him and cuddle him and he is very tame now.

When my mum & little sister pick him up or hold him he makes a continuous screeching noise and then when I hold him he stops doing it and snuggles up to me.

Why does he do this? I thought if a budgie was tame he would be tame for everyone?
