I say it doesn't matter where you get one from. I just sold one that i got from petco a year ago and the first night it was on my hand. However it went downhill from there(he kept breaking bloods feathers so I had to grab him destroying our bond very effectively). I just want to say if you want one that is more likely to be tame then get one from a breeder.

Well most would say to not buy from a pet shop. But I will admit that we got ours from pet stores and they lived for years. Got fish, lizards and hamsters too.

When it comes to dogs/cats - we either get rescues or buy purebreds from reputable breeders.

Where is a good place to buy a parakeet?

I would like one but I don't know if petsmart is a good place to buy one. Also anything you would like to add about a parakeet would be nice :)
