Has chance that a greenfinch to abandon its nest?

has chance that a bird to abandon its nest with 3 eggs?

Sadly birds will often abandon a nest and eggs or chicks if they feel threatened. If you find a nest the best thing to do is quietly retreat, do NOT go there again and leave the parents to rear their young. It may be tempting to look but you might then be the cause of an abandonment.

Eggs need to be incubated. If they have been left for too long they won't hatch. Abandoned chicks need hand rearing on the right diet for the species and it's not a job for the amateur. You could try contacting the RSPCA or RSPB if you are in the UK and you KNOW a nest has been abandoned with chicks, but their chances aren't great. Do not assume that chicks have been abandoned because you don't see the parents for a while. They may even be waiting for you to go away so that they can approach their nest without giving away its location. Try to stay well away from the nest and hope the parents return.
