How can you tell the difference between a Chinese goose and an African goose?

There's a male goose at the harbour near where I live. He's quite friendly but he's quite bossy. Trying to figure out if he is a Chinese goose or an African goose.

actually there is not a major difference in them. from what I learned is that they have similar coloration, they both come from China (don't let the African name fool you, they do not come from Africa). really the only difference is the size. the African goose is a bit bigger than the Chinese averagely weighing at 16-20 pounds while the Chinese weighs normally anywhere from 8-16 pounds. Hopefully this helps you to determine which is which. one last little tip that could help, usually the Chinese have a brown strip down their back and the front of their neck is a creamy white. the African should have a small round knob on the back of their head

The African breed is heavier than the Chinese, has a dewlap, and has a more prominent knob. The Chinese is a lighter weight goose that stands more upright, has a clean neck, and has a definite stop at the top of the bill before the knob.

This is a African Gray had a pair and were just as heavy very protective and the nobb on the head is used to thump a person or other geese very loud at times.

This is an African goose. Notice his neck. They are also heavier.
