I'm 13, and I'm very responsible and make good grades. I've had rats and snakes before and they have all were just fine. My mom agrees that I am definitely responsible enough for a bird. I've wanted a new pet for a few months now ever since my rats had to go away because my little brother scared one of them and it bit him. Ever since then I've been really lonely with no rats to keep me company, so I looked into a new pet and decided on a bird, specifically a cockatiel. Like I said before, my mom thinks I am responsible enough, but she thinks I should get something other than a bird because she says they are, loud, dirty, and don't like people. Is there a way to change her mind? Also I did take her to a pet store to hold birds, she wouldn't go near them because of their large beaks, but they were nice to me.
