My church has been instrumental in sending tents made of nets to Africa for this purpose. We call it the No More Malaria campaign. Maybe the tribes have some kind of natural repellent that they make. Could be something they rub on their skin or burn to repel with fumes or smoke.

And they are used to them. They were born around them and grew up around them their whole life.
