I think you either watched the wrong video or misunderstood what was going on. It is no different than getting your hair cut and the sheep are used to it. If anything most of them are happy to have it done in the summer because it holds in too much heat. Without it, they can keep cool easier in the hot summer.
Wool....as from sheep? They do not tranquilize them.....they just shear them. It doesn't hurt them.
I recently saw a video on how people harvest wool. I already knew it was brutal but for god's sake is it really that expensive to just put the animal under. I'm a diagnosed sociopath and I still find the videos hard to watch. How can people be so cruel.
