Sometimes the mother bird will push a fledgeling out of the nest when it's ready to fly. Don't worry, most likely she is still up in some tree watching out for her baby. Just leave it be and the mom will take care of it. If it's a little bird that has no visible feathers though, you should probably take it to a vet. Just remember though, it may be cute and fun to raise a baby blue jay, but the mommy bird knows better than you how to care for her baby ;) P.s. DO NOT go near the baby if you se the mother around. She will attack you and it will hurt. (I learned that the hard way)
The mother bird is probably out getting food for her baby. You should leave the baby in the nest for when she comes back.
