I regret having my budgies wing clipped :(?

He probably is just scared and not used to his new surroundings, so that's why he's staying in one place. With their wings clipped, they can only fly down, hop from perch to perch and climb on the cage bars.

The feathers take quite long to grow back, they will grow the next time he moults which can be a few months. He will probably be able to fly when they grow back because that's in their instinct to fly.

Trust me clipping his wings was a good decision. I have 3 budgies, all of which outgrew their clipping and I regret not keeping up with it because when they can really fly they can hurry themselves by flying into a window or a mirror etc. Don't be worried they definitely remember how to fly and it sounds like what you did wrong was to start him off in a big cage I recommend getting a smaller cage for him to get used to then you can move him to the bigger one for playtime and eventually full time in big cage. He might be unsure of how to get around his new cage. He will be okay though. You did the right thing by clipping his wings

Your bird will be fine. He won't forget how to fly. Buy him some new toys to hang in the cage, to catch his interest.

You shouldnt have done that, now you will have to teach the budgie how to fly when the feathers grow back..

I just got my first budgie (he's only a little baby), and the lady in the pet shop had his wing clipped. I wouldn't be so worried, however his cage is HUGE and he seems almost too scared to even try to fly. I have placed perches around but he will only stay in one area (with 2 perches) and it's making me feel so bad. So how long will it take for his feathers to grow back? And will he know how to fly again or will he forget since he's so young?
