Is it legal to kill elephants, rhinos, giraffe, or hippos in Africa?

If you can give me specific species that'd be great! Just curious about this is all.

Actually there are private game reserves where you can still hunt them. It is controlled and very expensive though. Depending on where the hunter is from much of it they cannot take home though be it hides, bones or other parts.

Here is a link to one group that has it: http://www.africanskyhunting.co.za/troph...

For example with them...

Elephants are $35,000

If you remember a few months ago there was a big issue over a group in Texas auctioning off the permit to kill a white rhino too.

EDIT: what idiot gave me a thumbs down. I even showed a link as proof. Moron.

I don't understand these answers. I thought it was illegal period to hunt all of these exquisite animals at any time. I thought the exceedingly rare black rhino is very endangered. It's illegal to make piano keys with ivory from elephant tusks. The hippo isn't endangered but it's vulnerable. I don't see how you could hunt any animal at any time that's endangered or vulnerable.

Yes. You go with a guide. And you spend a whole lot of money. And the meat goes to local tribes who are in need of it.

Do you guys not watch African hunts?

Sorry I don't have a clue on how to go about it.

Make sure its done legally, cause poaching in many countries is cured with a bullet.

I believe you can get a license to kill an elephant for 50,000 though. You just can't sell the tusks.

It's called illegal poaching for a reason, killing a protected species to sell their parts on the black market is cruel and not allowed.

No its illegal as this is poaching since elephants are endangered species.
