My budgie won't trust me?

use the power pause method... come into the room that the budgie is in but, stay far away. when she relaxes, leave, don't make eye contact or say a word just leave. keep doing this once a day moving less than a foot closer until you about half an arms length from the cage, at this point, hold millet, veg ar anything else you parrot likes and wait, if she takes a bit or eats a little then let her, after she is done, leave. do this in the morning preferably, before she has her food given to her. after the session, give her normal food as usual. After she is comfortable taking food from you hands so this:

So, I've had a budgie for about 4-5 years (I think). I used to have two, I'm not sure about their genders. I believe that one is male and one is female according to what the staff at pet stores told me. The one I believe was male used to step onto my finger but couldn't be taken out of the cage. However, that one had passed away. :( Now, I just have my (assumed) female. I've read forums and many said that it is easier to tame a bird when it is alone, so I decided to try to get her to trust me as she was always scared of me and never could go on my finger. I sat with it many times, put my hand in the cage to feed it millet but she never went near my hand. I think that she is a little but more trusting with me now, because every time I go near the cage she would be scared for a few minutes and then start to chat with me. Sometimes if I put my finger through the cage bars just slightly she would nibble it (she never bit me hard, so I think it's friendly). However I've always wanted a pet I could bond with and I begged my parents for a bird but I never got to bond and am quite disappointed...

I admit, I got my birds when I was in elementary so I didn't have much knowledge about animals. On the first day I got them I immediately put my hand in the cage and chased them and tried to grab them. Eventually I was too busy with other things that I just kept them in the cage and came to talk to them every now and then. I regret being careless. I just want my little budgie to love me..
