Maybe you could try getting him to step up onto another perch first and see if he'll do that? If he does you could keep practicing that until he does it straight away. Then you could try doing the same with your arm. You could always try luring him onto your hand with his favourite food to begin with. Make sure you take his food out of his cage an hour or so before trying this so thst he is hungry. Good luck! :)
hi guys i am able to get my sun conure out of his cage and onto my perch i hanged outside of the cage i give him treats then he bobs his head (a dance he learned) but if i push my finger softly or hard on his chest he wont step up i picked him up and tried to put him on my palm but he doesent or he just flies away also i can touch him pet him hold his beak touch his feet but he never ever tries to step up i had 2 cockatiels and they would get on on my finger every time i push it lightly on there chest i held up his foot and tried to get the other one but he takes off his foot or just lets go of both of his feet and falls down to the ground its a male sun conure he is about 6 a year old he is weaned and eats fine and drinks fine he doesent play with his toys but loves to destory his 10 dollar perches wich makes me buy new ones every 2 weeks or so please help me her droppings are also fine thanks
