I have a bonded young pair of rainbow lorikeets that I have seen mating none stop for the past few days...they are living in a large outdoor free flight aviary with a nesting box located high up in a sheltered area for the parrots to nest in...the problem is they won't go inside the actual box! They sit on top of it and play around it but won't actually enter the box the box is 100% ideal for the parrots...correct bedding materials, correct size and all that...they just don't go in it! After the male has mated with her how long after until the female is ready to lay eggs? Will she enter the box when she knows she needs to lay? Will her instinct kick in? Please help!
