It's a crane fly, don't kill it because it's harmless, it's not a mosquito. People often mistake them for monster mosquitoes, but they aren't

This huge bug is like a mosquito but bigger. Would like to know the correct name so I can research info about this bug. The house I work at the back yard is fenced in but beyond the fence it's full of trees, bushes and lots of sandy dirt and 2 blocks from horse barns. I avoid going out in the back yard with the kids I work with because of so many bugs but during the winter they aren't much of them.
