What are the dangers of eating raw insects?

Eating bugs such as spiders is just something not widely accepted in western cultures, but this has been shown to be far more healthy than harmful.

If ingested, eating any parasites would kill them, so no worries.

Their are some caterpillars and millipedes that may not agree with you, and some bugs produce a rather foul tasting/smelling excretion to avoid predation.

As for venomous insects/spiders, the venom is quickly broken down in the stomach and rendered harmless. venom is not poison, and only toxic if injected into skin/muscle tissues.

A video, not for the meek:

Many species of insects and animals are served as a special cuisine at the place where we live.I've seen many people eating live insects.I've tried once.Even spiders too however they are selective.

Parasites is your biggest concern. There's also pesticides to worry about.

If the spider had a parasite, you have a parasite, just like when a cow is sick eating it makes you sick. ive known no effects of eating insects besides if they have venom or a generally toxic pH value( anything below 6.5pH or above 11.6pH

If they aren't raised for the purpose of eating you run the risk of getting sick from ingesting too much pesticides and other chemicals.

I just ate a spider and realized eating bugs isn't that big of a deal once you get past the mental aspect of it being a bug. Can you get parasites or any other ill health effects from eating insects raw?
