What is the best type of bird for beginners?

Cockatiels can range from $100 dollars to $250 (most are in the 100 dollar range). Though they may be pricey for your budget they are definitely worth it. They are affectionate, forgiving if you do something towards their disliking, and are known as the best beginner birds. Parakeets can range from $25 to $200. It is tough to find parakeets over $100 dollars unless you go to a bird store or breeder. They can be affectionate but not as forgiving. They will let you know if you did something wrong to them though their bites wont hurt that much at all. Also they are a great beginner bird to interact with. Finches can range from $10 dollars all the way to $200 dollars. You can find a finch any where for cheap. Until you go to a bird store or breeder. That's when they get pricey. They aren't affectionate towards you, don't let them out of the cage or you will have a tough time catching it, and they are great for beginner bird owners who want to just learn how to take care of a bird and just want it for show. All in all pick which one suits you. DO NOT and i mean DO NOT go for Macaws, Grey's, COCKATOO's (not to be confused with Cockatiel's), and other large parrots. Conure is even pushing it. These birds range from $500 to $15000. Though the beginner bird I would recommend a Cockatiel since they are affectionate, forgiving, and a bird you would want to be with all of the time. Trust me it is worth $100 dollars.

It is best to start with a parakeet (budgie) , you can get the bird and a cage with supplies for around $100- $120.

Definitely a budgie(parakeet) the cost about 25$ the interact with you and can be trained in my place it costs 2$ Pakistan :)

I'd suggest either a finch or a budgie. Don't try anything like a macaw, conure, or parrot.

I am a fourteen year old boy and have wanted to get a bird for a while now. I am starting high school and will have to spend a lot of time with that. If I get a bird it will probably be a X-mas gift, so I will already be accustomed to high school by then. I want to know what is the best bird to get for a beginner.
