That is a great spot whatever you but do NOT put it by the window or heater. And dont put it in the kitchen. When you cook the smoke will go in the air and not good for the bird

Don't put the cage in a bedroom, budgies are social animals and need to be around their people.

I have ours between dinning room and living room where they have constant contact with us and also have plenty of day light and sunshine.

parakeets are frigile in nature and they are not meant to live in room temperature.....it is better to put them as close as possible to the outside environment if you cannot keep them safely outside.......this is because the variations in temperature in their natural habitat aids to adaptaion that might be needed in the future in case of an even where their location will be changed or altered......and also in order to keep them healthy they need to have the right amount of sunlight provided by the outside natural environment.......and in the house the lights may be on for too long or for too little......this cam cause stress....so for the best results and health of the parakeets........if you cannot keep them outside keep them as close as you posssibly can to outside in the yard or varanda etc
