Which spider is the most aggressive?

In north America, there are no spiders so aggressive as to bite/attack humans without provocation, and even your mythical horror stories are quite false.

Perhaps the most aggressive spider known,(referring to quick to defend themselves) is the Brazilian wandering spider, with the male Sydney funnelweb spider in second place.

Here is the Goliath bird eater, you decide if it is aggressive:

Aggressive isn't the same thing as having a potent bite. Black widows are very shy and bite very reluctantly. I've seen people handle black widows.

" I remember reading in National Geography that Goliath Bird Eater is known to jump on people's faces and feast on their eyes."

You're making that up. NatGeo has been putting a lot of dubious info on people but that's stupidly ridiculous.

No spider "attacks people without provocation". That would be a seriously flawed survival strategy to go up and attack a creature 15,000 times your size. If you saw an African bull elephant, would you say "hmm I think I'm going to run up to it and bite it on the knee."?

I think the black widow. You cant get more aggressive than killing a human with 1 bite.

"Aggressive" meaning likelihood of attacking humans without provocation, and cruelty of their methods. I remember reading in National Geography that Goliath Bird Eater is known to jump on people's faces and feast on their eyes. That seems pretty viscous to me...

Is there more aggressive spider than that one?
