It's the condition. Summer is way too hot. Autumn is humid, which is ideal for mosquitoes. Mosquitoes need stagnant water to lay their eggs. During the summer, it's mostly dry because of the long hot days.

Autumn days are getting shorter, there's more humidity. Temperature is dropping.
