How to kill a rooster?

I had the same problem. I caught him and threw him over the fence and let my Dobermans handle the problem. Whack him in the head with the shovel, or catch him and yes hang him upside down by his legs and swing him and knock his head into a tree or fence post. Roos can be quite dangerous and bad ones need to go to rooster hell. Or fed to the dogs.

With the few roosters that I've killed, I prefer to hang them up side down, low to the ground and shoot them in the back of the head with a 22. They die instantly and don't flop around near as much as when chopping of the head, and they bleed out really well or the blood is collected in the head or after killing them you can remove the head and let them bleed out better that way.But most of time I think it is just a matter of preference like you said, and what seems the most humane to the person doing the deed.

two related shorkie brother and sister mated and now the female is pregnant by her brother and i really dont know how the puppies are going to be can someone please give me some feeback on this situation thank u

Hang him upside down until he becomes unconscious. Then bleed him out.

You can sell him don't have to kill him and if you have a hubby get him to get the bird and place him in a pen big enough for him to stay with food and water and a shady area go get the bird at night when hes on his roost have your hubby grab the bird by both feet lift him up by lightly pushing on the chest area then he can turn him up side down to carry to a holding pen or carry right side up be sure to hold the wings down then place ads roo for sale pictures would be nice as well or take to a farm auction No need to kill the bird and when you enter the coop carry the shovel and let him know you mean bussiness if have to go after the roo a few times and when he comes at you get him with the shovel he will soon learn when you enter the coop area you are the top dog not him and he does this cuz hes protecting the ladies.

hang it upside down and chop its head off, ive seen my grandma do it many times each time it gets grosser and grosser.

Roosters can get mean this way. Check on Youtube for the best ways to "take care of him" and have him for dinner. No need to just kill him and let him go to waste. You could also put an ad on craigslist if someone wants to come and get him if you don't want to do the deed yourself. Make sure you mention he's free or you likely won't get any takers.

i have a very large very aggressive rooster, he has jumped me a few times with me just trying to feed and water him and the hens. i dont show any aggression towards him. but its gotten to the point of me haveing to go in the coop with a shovel or rake just to keep him away so i can feed and water them. i am terrified of picking him up and going near him to catch him so i just want to kill him.... humanely as possible. i would love to be able to enjoy my chickens again my daughter is 2 and loves them and i hate she cant get in and pet and feed them.. please help.
