What type of bird in south carolina has a split tail?

As always, the size of the bird would be helpful in narrowing down the possible species.

Barn Swallow would be most likely but terns, a Scissor-tailed flycatcher, a bird in molt or a Swallow-tailed Kite can't be excluded, etc. etc..

Despite what the old sot pontificates, Swallow-tailed Kites are summer residents and breed in South Carolina regularly.
