Why would wild animals not eat liver, intenstines, or kidneys of another animal?

Typically the guts are the first thing that coyotes eat as most of the nutrition is there. I have had cats that killed rats and birds and ate nothing but the guts so my guess is that your cat was probably killed by a stray dog rather than a coyote.

Maybe your catfood smelled strange to the predator.

maybe it simply didnt feel like liver and kidney that day.

Sadly, a wild animal in our area killed our house cat the other day. We think it was likeliest a coyote, but I suppose it may have also been a dog or a fox or something. Whatever it was, they ate almost everything of the cat except for its liver, kidneys, and intestines. I am curious reasons as to why they would leave these behind: are they not healthy or tasty?
